The beautiful September sweater from PetiteKnit, we have knitted in Gaia yarn, 1 strand Cashmere Soft Touch and 1 follower strand, Dandelion Lace. A beautiful combination that gives the right knitting tension and creates a super soft match. The picture shows color match No. 025

The September Sweater is knitted from the top down in English rib. First, you start by casting on stitches for the neck and knit the back back and forth, while making increases on each side. Then, stitches are picked up for the shoulders, which are knitted separately and then gathered for the front piece. When you reach the armhole, the front and back pieces are gathered to form the body, which is knitted in the round on a circular needle. Then, stitches are picked up for the sleeves, which are knitted in the round with decreases on a short circular needle. Finally, stitches are picked up along the neck opening to knit the rib edge of the neck, which is folded double and knitted to form a solid. The September Sweater therefore requires no assembly.

It is important to do a swatch before you start to find the needle size that will give you the correct gauge. Please note that English rib knit is elastic and can be difficult to measure – so take the measurements several times to be sure.

Size guide:

The September Sweater should have a positive ease of around 15 cm around your bust measurement. The sizes XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL (4XL) 5XL are designed for a bust measurement of 80-85 (85-90) 90-95 (95-100) 100-110 (110-120) 120-130 (130-140) 140-150 cm. The finished measurements of the sweater can be found on the front of the pattern. To find the best fit, measure yourself before you start knitting. For example, if your bust measurement is 97 cm (or the widest part of your body), size L would be the best choice. A size L has an upper width of 113 cm, which in this case would give a movement space of 16 cm.

Please note that patent knits tend to expand slightly in width after washing and with use. Therefore, you can expect your September Sweater to grow about 5-8 cm in width compared to the measurements given in the pattern.

Circular needle 5 mm (40, 60, 80 and/or 100 cm), circular needle 4.5 mm (80 or 100 cm), circular needle 3.5 mm (40 cm), double pointed needles 4.5 mm

Gauge:

12 stitches x 38 rows in English rib on 5 mm needles = 10 x 10 cm (note that 38 rows in English rib count as 19 knit stitches)
