PetiteKnit - Moby Sweater

We knitted the Moby Sweater from PetiteKnit in Alpaca peak and Dandelion Lace as a secondary thread. It has become the most beautiful creation, where the yarn really comes into its own and gives the design a super soft and exclusive look.

Moby Sweater is knitted from the top down using both textured and cable knits. First, the back is knitted, which is shaped using reverse knitting needles to create a shoulder slope. Then, stitches are picked up for the shoulders, which are carried on to the front piece. The front and back pieces are gathered under the armhole to form the body, which is knitted straight down. The sleeves are knitted in the round using double pointed needles or the Magic Loop technique. The neck is finished with a rib edge, which is folded over and knitted down.

It is important to make a swatch to find the right needle size so that you achieve the desired knitting tension – remember that this can vary depending on the yarn. Also remember to wash the swatch, as textured knits can expand after washing.

Moby Sweater should have a positive ease of 15-20 cm in relation to your chest measurement. The sizes XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL (4XL) 5XL fit a chest measurement of 80-85 (85-90) 90-95 (95-100) 100-110 (110-120) 120-130 (130-140) 140-150 cm measured directly on the body. Take your own measurements to find out which size will fit you best. For example, if you measure 90 cm around the chest (or the widest part of the body), you should knit a size S. A sweater in size S has an upper width of 106 cm, which in this case will give a movement space of 16 cm.

1 strand Alpaca Peak (120m/50g).
1 thread Dandelion Lace (185m/25g).

The entire piece is knitted with 2 strands held together.

Sticks:

Circular needle 4 mm (40, 60, 80 and/or 100 cm), circular needle 3.5 mm (80 and/or 100 cm), circular needle 3 mm (40 cm), double pointed needles 4 and 3.5 mm, cable needle.

Gauge:

20 stitches x 28 rows in textured knit on 4 mm needles = 10 x 10 cm
